The Painted House by John Grisham
This was just a good story. It didn't have a lot of drama, suspsense or action but I really did enjoy the story. It described life in rural Arkansas in the fifties according to a seven year old boy. There was some action with violence and even death. There was also some events that were viewed as immoral especially for the time period. These events kept you guessing and reading to see what else was going to happen.
Water For Elephants
I just completed this book. I know many people really enjoyed the story and movie but I found it a little slow. I want something with a faster pace and more action. I did like the ending but there was such a build up for such a few pages of excitment. The other problem I had with it was more personal. There were several chapters where the main character was in the nursing home and that was just a little too close to home for me. If you enjoy a story without a lot of suspense and action you will probably enjoy this book.

The Girl Who Played With Fire
I started The Girl Who Played with Fire back before Christmas and haven't finished it yet. It is a very interesting book but it gets a little rough (physical abuse to main character) that is hard for me to read. That has slowed me down on the reading. I will finish it maybe during brighter days!

Fatal Convictions by Randy Singer
I did finish the Apostle by Brad Thor and have now moved on to Fatal Convictions by Randy Singer. It is a story about a Muslim iman who is accused of ordering an honor killing of a Muslim woman who has converted to Christianity and is fraternizing with a single Christian man. The main character of the story is a lawyer and Baptist preacher who defends the Muslim iman. It is a pretty good story. A little slow at times, but has gotten more intersting the further I've gotten in the book.
